Title: Internet Mail provider causes NNTP issues
Post by: Skram0 on March 16, 2005, 03:37:27 AM
I've noticed the Internet Mail provider, ashMaiSv.exe, uses around 15%-20% CPU while downloading NNTP news, the sensitivity has no affect. When I uncheck 'Scan inbound news' leaving 'Scan outbound news' checked and reload NewsBin, it still takes quite a bit of CPU time even though I'm not even sending any 'outbound' news.

There's a strange affect it has on NewsBin too. Right after requesting a file to download, it seems to report back to NewsBin that the download is done, making NewsBin display its little 'download arrow' for a split second. It also renders NewsBin's download progress bar useless since it thinks the download is already done.

I don't remember the specific version I was using before the update to my current version 4.6.623, maybe 4.6.603 or 4.5.561, but while downloading news, I never used to see the little 'a' in the system tray spin as much as it does now. It's really annoying. I think before I was still protected too, cause I've seen a few messages in the past when NB downloaded something bad. And NewsBin's progress bar had always worked in the past too.
