Title: Home ver 4.6 and XP Home
Post by: compudoc on March 16, 2005, 04:03:18 PM
2 of my clients have had this happen in the last 36 hours.

After a full drive scan and discovery of many un-repairable Trojans that had to be deleted XP and the computers NIC will no longer communicate.  I can go to another computer and see the MAC address through the router, but when you check the status of the NIC all you see is a low number of packets sent.

Does 4.6 remove something that it should leave alone?
Any help / suggestions / advice is appreciated

It could be... do you have the name of the infected files (and the path)?
Can you see any information on the avast logs?
They should scan the computers on-line to see if any other infection is preventing the computers to connect.
Right now, I suggest and ad-aware and spyware scanning/cleaning.
