Title: How to stop Avast 7 Pro autoupdating?
Post by: Yandros on April 11, 2013, 11:37:10 AM
We've encountered problems running Avast 8 under XP (with integration feaures enabled, clicking on a network drive crashes XP instantly!), so for the time being we're attempting to downgrade to Avast 7.

The problem is, as soon as we insert a license key file after Avast 7 is installed, it triggers an autoupdate to Avast 8, even if the program update options are set to off.

Is there a way of turning off this behaviour?

Have you installed the same edition originally?
I mean, if you e.g. install avast! Free and then insert a license to a paid product, then yes, the program updates itself because it downloads additional packages from our servers (the features that are not present in avast! Free), and only the latest versions of the packages are available - so it's necessary to update the whole program.

I don't have an installer for Avast 7 pro, so I'm a bit stuck. The only one I thought I'd found turned out to be 8 again!

Can anyone point me in the direction of a legitimate (non-cracked) 7.0.1474 pro version?
