Title: would like to get avast for or 7.0

Hi guys,

I am really bad at anything with technology, so I just would love you guys help on this. I got a laptop a while ago from a now ex  who installed everything for me on it as a gift, I think I had avast 7.0 ( I think it is called that) and  almost every time I would turn on my laptop it would notify me of its update, it never said trial version so I think it is free and it protected me from certain sites and it was simple and really great. I got a message saying to update it to another 7.0 version so I did and I found it was like avast 8.0 and it was a trail version of the internet protection  or something like that and it is saying I only have a few days left. I want the free version I had before, I am not sure if I should uninstall and reinstall the older version?

also does avast come with a firewall or should I get a free ZoneAlarm?
and I have windows 7.

See http://filehippo.com/download_avast_antivirus/ on the right hand side of page is a list of previous versions.
Click to select. Only AIS and Premier have firewalls.

For a clean install...
1) Download and save to HDD the version you want.
2) Download, save and run for each version of avast you have ever had http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (You will get a prompt to run in safe mode.)
3) Reboot
4) Install from step #1 (select the "custom" install)
5) Reboot and register

Thankyou so much :) it worked I am just having a hard time to choose which firewall I want, which one would you recommend out of the ones you have listed :)

Windows 7 has a good firewall included, I'd recommend to keep using that one.

The other firewalls listed by Para-Noid are also all good so it would come down to testing them and your personal preference.
