Title: Avast Forum banned issue
Post by: jonathan_wrl on April 21, 2013, 01:33:27 PM
Hi,

I registered an avast account earlier today under the alias "knightcom". I am new to the forum and I have neither posted any forum comment nor start any forum topic under the "knightcom" alias account.

As I was about to create a new post for an avast issue I encountered, I realised my account alias under "knightcom" got banned without any expire set (according to the message I saw).

Could the respective moderator lift the ban on my account under the alias "knightcom" and look into the situation?

Thank You
Jonathan

Try now, I can see no reason why it was banned

The account was banned as three of your IP addresses in the 220 range are confirmed with recent spamming and your stated location of Canada does not match your IP address of Singapore.

I can remove the ban from the other account but being that you have now started a new account why not keep using this one?

Hi,

I see, I was born in Canada, currently living in Singapore. That's why I put the location as Canada.

As for the spamming mentioned in your post, I am pretty sure that I have nothing to do with it as I just started using this forum since earlier today.

Thank you for looking into my situation, is there any way I could remove or change my location set in my alias account?

Thank You
Jonathan

I'll remove the ban for you and you can change any details via the profile tab at the top of the page, note that some some information cannot be changed or added until you reach 20 posts.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
