Title: ALL FILES LOST

I upgraded to Avast Pro and lot ALL FILES!  I am using Windows 8 and all my music, pictures, apps, even my tax returns are gone.  Any answers on how to recover them?

what did avast say about the files?
where they detected as malware?.... what malware name did avast give?

You can't just "lose" them. Either they got detected and deleted (but i find it unlikely that all music, pictures and all got deleted as they aren't exactly common infectable files) or something else corrupted your HDD/SSD.
