Title: Spamconf just ate my disk
Post by: warlock on May 05, 2013, 11:18:57 AM
So suddenly my SSD ended up with only 1GB of free space within a few minutes. After searching for the reason, I have found a 81,5 GB file in c:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\Spamconf\sc23luatest\ folder with the name "čP™".

I've reported the same problem in avast IS R2 beta 3 (8.0.1486),
here details
Updated from previous beta via GUI.
In the first restart I've seen again the Avast software updater account.
In the second disapper but I've notice a strange higly HDD usage.
I've found this file created from avast 101GB under C:\Users\All Users\AVAST Software\Avast\Spamconf\sc23luatest...It's an isolated case?
Now, on a third restart the strange higly HDD usage is finished..

Tested on my home pc, see sign below

Yes, a known issue back then, but it shouldn't occur in 1488.

Probably it wasn't fixed..  ::)
It should occur only on IS/premier version (with anti spam module installed) and only sometimes as I've reported

Did you use any beta build of A8R2? If yes, I recommend you to reinstall your avast! installation. Otherwise, we must check this deeply as this issue must be solved asap.

thanks,
