Title: easy pass
Post by: BRKHon on May 14, 2013, 08:05:59 PM
Last week my free avast antivirus expired and I purchased easy pass and passwords protection
Today I had a message to say that my laptop no longer had antivirus protection.
I thought easy pass took care of everything or have I been conned?

Hi BRKHon and welcome to the Avast Forums!

Be assured...you are not being conned.  To clarify...Avast Free Antivirus is the free version of Avast's Antivirus program.  The Avast EasyPass software is a yearly-based, paid subscription which provides you with the ability to securely save the various usernames and passwords you use to access the websites you visit, along with a number of other functions.

The Avast EasyPass program does not function as an antivirus application.

EasyPass can be set up to automatically just fill-in the username and password fields on a site you are visiting, or you can also set it to automatically fill-in the username/password fields and then log you in.

With the Avast Free Antivirus program, (the last time I checked)...when your yearly registration is about to expire, you generally have to re-register if you would like to continue using the free program.

(Some of our other knowledgeable forum members may be able to further clarify this information).

Hope this provides a little better enlightenment for you!

Best regards,

Pete C.
