Title: Avast 8 IS and Windows Firewall

So I upgraded (and switched back to) Avast. I've been running Comodo firewall+Webroot and have disabled Windows firewall in the process so quick question, do I need to have Windows firewall enabled? Does the Avast firewall work fine without Windows firewall?

If I remember correctly (which I very well might not) it used to be basically just UI for Windows firewall before so that's why I'm asking.
