Title: Deployment Problems pushing Avast! to client machines
Post by: jcrompton on May 20, 2013, 09:41:17 PM
I am trying to roll out Avast to my client machines running Windows 7 Pro x64 and not having much luck.

Getting the following error- using my domain administrator account-

05/20/13 15:31:27:   rinstInstall begin
05/20/13 15:31:27:   Init 50 60 C:\Windows\TEMP\asw9048.tmp C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Enterprise Administration\InstPkgs NULL  0
05/20/13 15:31:27:   Store
05/20/13 15:31:27:   Domains: domain
05/20/13 15:31:27:   Init domain\ComputerName
05/20/13 15:31:27:   : GetAccount
05/20/13 15:31:27:   : not found in domain list
05/20/13 15:31:27:   : Finished with error
05/20/13 15:31:27:   TerminateAll
05/20/13 15:31:28:   rinstInstall end 87

(edited out domain and computer names)

I am using a valid domain account and I can ping the machine from the server. What am I missing?

Thanks!

When you put the username in the deployment task to push out the client did you put domainname\adminuser?  Otherwise it can't find the user.  Using yoru domain name and your admin user of course.

Yes I did,

domain\myadminaccount

I double checked the username/password to make sure I did not mistype as well.

It seems my account needed to be in the Enterprise Admins group instead of just domain admins. Works correctly now.
