Title: virus
Post by: cornishcynders on June 23, 2013, 04:29:17 PM
 >:(
I purchased your product ,status always states I'm protected & I've just had to pay £30 to clean my laptop cos it had a virus !!
Not impressed at all  >:(
I wondered why it kept slowing ,not loading & generally 'wrong' on so many levels.

Hi what was the virus that was cleaned ?   Was it adware toolbars ?   If so we would have cleared it for free here

NO antivirus is 100% effective. Also no reason to have paid to remove it. We could have walked you through it for FREE.

It was a windows command processor virus.Cant believe how fast this is now ,it was so slow with everything I was on ,and getting worse bit by bit.

I don't suppose you have any further data as command processor virus covers a multitude of sins

I dont know if I can find out more ,I'll try though,
It was nasty enough to shut laptop off several times & it got very overheated .I should have had it looked at before but I guess I was getting used to it for awhile .

At the moment I'm happy with it all :)
A bit worried that I might have lost everything & I've so many pics on here.I'm going to copy them to disc tomorrow.
How could it have got thru Avast though?

It really depends on what it was, hence the questions.   All malware is updated very frequently and the AV labs are always playing catchup..  Even the independent malware analysts take a day or two to figure out how it works and then how to kill or remove it..

Didnt know that ,
I realized it must be infected when I used the old family computer and it was whizzing  along in comparison .
(I keep checking the warmth under this ,there's a little bit of paranoia here still).
Thanks for replying:)
