Title: issue with Thunderbird - no emails

Hi,

For a few days now, thunderbird doesn't work with the mailshield on.

I use Mac OS X 10.8.4, Thunderbird with multiple gmail accounts and Firefox.

Any idea what may be wrong?

Same thing here since the last two updates to the program. Worked for a long time, but back to where I was a few months back mail shield stops mail.

Some other folks were reporting (complaining) about avast blocking their gmail, and Thunderbird, a few weeks ago, in a posted thread titled, Security Certificate. That one was solved by simply uninstalling avast!, then installing the new updated version. That discussion might shed some light on your problem - take a look. It's at the link following,  top of 2nd page, reply #15. More info down through item #21.

I know this post ins't helpful but I just installed Avast today and use Thunderbird for my gmail account. I have not had any problems. I do hope that uninstalling avast and reinstalling fixes it. :) Good luck!

I am not sure if this is the same problem that I have been having with Apple Mail, but I have experienced big problems with Avast blocking mail from being delivered to my mail client - see my post "Apple Mail not retrieving email".
There are a couple of suggestions there.
