Title: setiface.dll not found
Post by: crjungers on July 12, 2013, 10:48:52 PM
At a Head Start location which has been using AEA. I'm a contract network guy who installed and configured AEA about six months ago. Local contact IT person could not log in to the administrator console and after trying to figure it out called me.

Looks like AEA is broken here for whatever reason. Fails to create SQL database, all sorts of problems. So I decided to remove it and reinstall.

Will not uninstall because it cannot find "module" "setiface.dll".  Can't find it anywhere. Is there a place to download it? How can I uninstall this program without it?

Thanks,
Craig Jungers

Hmm, did you try to uninstall with the utility tool?

1. uninstall avast! using our removal utility
http://files.avast.com/files/eng/aswclear.exe

Before running the uninstall utility, you have to first boot in safe mode (how to boot in safe mode: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true).

2. restart

3. Make sure that all avast! folders has been completly removed. If not delete them manualy.
C:\ProgramFiles\Alwil Software\
C:\ProgramFiles\Avast Software\

C:\ProgramData\Alwil Software\
C:\ProgramData\Avast Software\

I hope this helps.
