Title: Is there a free (forever) Avast!, or just the 30-day?
Post by: robphil on July 13, 2013, 07:01:30 PM
Pardon my ignorance, but I was searching for some free computer security....  I found, and read about Avast! at download.com.  So I downloaded it and installed it and am currently running it.  My question - it appears to only be free for 30-days, but from things that I've read it sounds like there is a free version that isn't time limited.  Am I mistaken, or how could I track that one down - if it exists?

The avast free version is free, but you must register it (as mentioned), until you do you are effectively using it as a trial with 30 days use.

From the avastUI > Maintenance > Registration - here you can register avast free using the Register Now button.
- this gives you 365 days registration, which you have to renew next year.

I have been using avast free for a little over nine years.
