Title: Internet Mail Scanner Slow

Whenever I have the Internet Mail scanner set to redirect to my Gmail internet account, the thing always takes a long time to conenct to the server and download the messages.  Is there some setting that I havn't configured correctly or am I doing something wrong?  Anyone else have a Gmail account and has it working fine?  Thanks in advance.

Just my 2 cents worth!   I am using Thunderbird and downloading Gmail  to it.  Avast works fine with it.  Also have two accounts with Comcast.  And they download perfectly too.

I'm using Thunderbird to.  The lastest version too.  Could it be a Thunderbird problem?  Could some setting in there be causing the problem?
