Which version of avast! and Windows 8 are you using and what other security related programs are installed.
How did you remove your previous AV program ?

I think the man having problems with the "live tiles" on Windows 8 is actually using to new Windows 8.1 - I too have the same problem since I upgraded to Windows 8.1 - The info I have found is blaming Avast! for the problem and telling us to use another AV program instead, until you solve the problem. I don't know for sure if it's Avast! or Microsoft. I personally blame Microsoft. I hope you two companies can get together and solve this.

You are correct. Live tiles worked on Windows 8 not Working for me on Windows 8.1 on my 32 bit system.
