Title: Computer won't boot, sticks at aswrvrt.sys...
Post by: Polo9 on August 24, 2013, 01:10:19 PM
I've seen similar threads, so I've already used FRST, I've attached the logs
The system doesn't boot even in safe mode
I hope you can help me, thank you!

Had you just updated windows ?

Download the attached fixlist.txt to the same location as FRST
Run FRST as before and press fix
Then retry a normal boot

Thank you for your help!
It booted once after I updated windows, but the second time it couldn't start anymore.
After fixing I've tried a normal boot but it remains on the windows logo and now in safe mode it gets stuck on CLASSPNP.SYS
I've attached the Fixlog

OK it looks like it was a windows update that killed you.  Next we will see if it changed your hard drive type

Enable AHCI by following either of the steps below, depending on your board model:

1.Press the F2 key after the Power-On-Self-Test (POST) memory test begins.
2.Select the Configuration menu, then the SATA D rives menu.
3.Set the Chipset SATA Mode to AHCI.
4.Press the F10 key to save the BIOS settings and exit the BIOS Setup program.

It's already set to AHCI, should I try the IDE mode?

Yes try IDE, if it does not work then change it back

At which stage you will be looking at a windows reinstall

I tried IDE and booting it normally i got a BSOD for one second before rebooting (I managed to read Stop 0x0000007b) and so I set it back to AHCI.
Like you suggested i'm trying to reinstall windows (i've already done it once without problems in the past) but this time i'm stuck on a please wait a moment screen.
Thank you again for your help!

It might be advisable to wipe the drive before re-installing
