Hey guys,
I want to use avast like little snitch and forbid certain programs to access the internt. I couldn´t find out how that works with avast but I´m pretty sure that it´s possible. . Any suggestions? Thank you.
-
what avast version do you have? .... avast internet security with firewall?
-
As little snitch is Mac software, he's probably using avast! (Free/Pro) for Mac..!?
-
uhm, dunno...I have the normal avast free antivirus, not upgraded. I don´t use little snitch, I have a laptop with windows 8, but I´d like to know whether avast can do the same. otherwise I´ll have to get another software that can do that - I´d prefer to stick to avast.

Yes, but not with the free version.
You can either use IS or Premier, both have a firewall included.

ok, installed the premier version now - where can I adjust it then? so that I can pick certain programs that won´t have access to internet? thanks

You can block them within the firewall.

You can block them with Avast (Free) Website blocking.
You need to see address in Web Shield when you start application.
For example to block Iobit Uninstaller I blocked following address with Website blocking :
*update.iobit.com*
For PotPlayer : *.daum.net*. I also had to block tracking cookie in IE10 since it uses IE to
connect with internet.
Hope this helps since Avast Web Shield is incompatible with Windows Firewall outbound rules.
