I can't remember the last time I got a pop-up with firefox, except those genuine ones that I (requested) do want to see.

So I don't think I need anything other than the default firefox pop-up blocker and judging by some of the comments on the page, I'm not alone in that view.

I'm definately of the 'if it isn't broke don't fix it' camp.

This one is for the next-generation of pop-up that will become more common as more and more people use IE with SP2 or Firefox. Some of these pop-ups use Java and Flash, and this plug-in claims to prevent such pop-ups. (It doesn't prevent DHTML pop-up.)

Pop-up blockers may be working now, but internet advertising is an arms race: don't expect the pop-up pushers to sit still, and don't be complacent about your pop-up free screen: sooner or later they'll start appearing again. as with spyware and viruses, it's best to keep an eye on the future and ahead of the game. ;)

Of course, Firefox's pop-up blocker itself may be improved to catch these pop-ups, or the Adblock plug-in may catch them. Let's see!

I agree with you Technical. At my workplace (where it's not allowed to install Opera or Firefox) I always use Maxthon. It also has excellent ad-blocker features as well. Allthough at home I prefer Opera over Firefox since i use SuSE as an operating system, I always use Maxthon at work and I really like all the excellent features of it  :)

Guys,

This page is not offering another pop-up stopper. I know that the pop-up stoppers with Firefox, IE and other browsers work fine, but just because of this, there's a new generation of pop-ups coming which none of these browsers will block.

If you use Firefox, have perhaps encountered on of these pop-ups, and would like to help evaluate this plug-in, then give it a whirl.

Whatever Browser you use, bear in mind that your pop-up blocker may work now, but some of the cleverest (sleaziest) minds in the world are working on popping past it.

Anybody know of a DHTML pop-up blocker for Firefox?

One thing I should say, be very careful about programs that are still in beta.
