Title: Failed - backup to Google Drive
Post by: Rocknharp on September 22, 2013, 06:05:39 PM
Said server login credentials to Google Drive were bad, but there is no way to change them.  Need very explicit instructions AND a web link to the right place to do that. :'(.  Tech support was incompetent and I was transferred five times before being told to submit a support ticket.  Have Avast premium on my computers and phone....this is not I expect for a configuration issue with your software.

Do you use two-factor authentication on Google Drive?
Did you configure the Google Account in your phone? If so, the login in Google Drive should be automatic.

if the credentials are bad due to whatever reason, you can disable google drive on your web account (after disabling all backup items) and reconfigure it either on web or device.

Similar issue that needs clear direction:
I have 10 devices that we setup with avast! Mobile Backup and provided our Google Drive login credentials.
These credentials have since changed, and avast! Mobile Backup can no longer connect.

The device tells me to go to my.avast.com and disable/enable Google Drive to fix this.
The website tells me: "Before you can disable Google Drive storage, you have to uncheck all your backup settings on all your devices!"

What do you mean by 'uncheck all your backup settings on all your devices'??

Why can't we simply provide new login credentials??

Thanks for the help!

i too was facing the same problem.
I resolved it by
-registering and logging into my account at my.avast.com on a computer preferably rather than a phone or tablet
-then go to the device section followed by the backup section
-go to settings and remove any and all ticked options and save
-log out on the computer and attempt the backup on your mobile device
I'm not sure if thats helpful it may have been pure luck for me but thought it may help
