Hi there,
Is anyone else having a problem with their email since updating to version 8? Everything was fine with my email software (Apple Mail) until I upgraded to Version 8. Since then on one (but not all) of my email accounts, I have been unable to download any mail - I just get a time out error message. I have just tried turning off the email shield and this has solved the problem, albeit temporarily, as all mails on the server have now downloaded. However, this doesn't seem a satisfactory solution as my mails from one server are not being scanned upon download. The mail server is run by UK2.net.
Any solutions or is this a bug in the new version?
Cheers

Hi Forensic, thanks for your feedback.
We haven't encountered such problems so far, lets find out where the problem lies.
As UK2.net apparently doesn't provide free accounts, we'd appreciate some further help from you.
Please turn off 'Scan secured connections' option in avast! Mail Shield settings. Then set your UK2 account in Apple Mail to use unencrypted connection. Don't worry, avast! encrypts the connection all the same.
Did it help?
Anyway, please send us original connection settings you're using for UK2 account, including server, port and authentication type.
Thanks for your cooperation and looking forward hearing from you.

Hi Pepa,
Turning off the 'Scan secured connections' option did the trick.
FYI the server is mail.uk2.net, port is 995 and authentication method is password.
Many thanks for your help.

Hallo, same problem here.
Since last update i have not receive any email from centrum.cz
What helps:
Turn off the whole email shield or "Scan secured connections" in settings.
Is that normal?
Im using pop3.centrum.cz, SSL Port 995. Thanks.
