In order for you to be able to send me a reply to my PM,
you'll need to make an additional eight posts. (For a total of 20 posts) Please use this thread to complete your task.
Sorry but there aren't any exceptions. (That's what I was told.)

Come on avast! team make an exception.

She will be "served with the same sauce".
"Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander" as the proverb goes.
It is a safeguard against spam invasion and it works,
there is nothing personal about these additional 8 posts needed to complete 20...

As far as I'm aware they are forum wide restrictions, something that can't be applied/removed on a user by user basis.
-
Actually, the only replies and posts needed in here are those from Corrine. :)
-
I don't want to "spam" the forum with unnecessary posts but as admin of a number of help forums I most certainly understand the rules.
-
Welcome back Corrine.. We will call this nice spam :)

Totally agree and only 7 more to go till you can reply to me via PM. :)
-
Bob, you could have reached me at SNF. The only reason I contacted Essexboy instead of sending you a message there was because I thought there was a problem with my account.
-
I must admit that even after clearing cache & cookies, I get rather unusual results here -- e.g., I arrive at the forum and the navigation bar shows the link to login/register (as shown in the attached image). Yet, I am able to post. Other times, I get the normal nav bar.
-
That is strange considering that you are logged in. ???
-
Corrine,
I get the following from the last link in your signature:

(The image also doesn't appear.)

Thank you. Actually, I frequently visit the forums here. One reason is when helping someone with Avast but most often it is when I am researching a log and the search results bring me to your posts, which I always know are trustworthy.

That is another problem apparently related to having less than 20 posts -- I cannot edit my signature to remove that old link.

Hi, Phil! Are you the source of Bob's PM to me about being unable to register at LzD?

It was the "normal" navigation bar that strangely appeared the other day that showed I had a PM from you -- from July!!!

At other SMF forums that I admin, we use the Stop Forum Spam (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1519) add-on. The only problem it hasn't solved is the recent influx of signature spammers.

There are a few with admin priviledges, all are Avast staff, there are some anti-spam tools, but not StopForumSpam, which I think is a bit of a pity as it is a great resource and catches many (manual checking suspects) that aren't blocked by the other measures.
Now you have your 20 and can access the full profile settings.
