I think that Avast Firewall is blocking MS Updates. I delayed moving just to get the updates working because of the 121 updates it had to add from the failure of updates to work. I just moved and I had to switch from Cavtel DSL to Earthlink Dial-up. The first thing I did was updated Avast but when I tried do an MS Update the ActiveX controls would not load. Maybe it is the change in connection speeds from DSL to Dial-up? Anyway I had this problem before I moved and enabled the ActiveX controls on IE8.
Anybody have any suggestions?
