Title: {Solved} Allowing proxy trafic for java
Post by: gideon on October 16, 2013, 10:34:36 AM
Hello,

I tested the beta version and now the release version and Windows 8.1. I posted originally at the beta forum, but I think I now know a little bit more about my problem.

If I have Avast FW enable the Java applets do not quite work. I can not even get the java.com java-version test window to work. I am now wondering if the Avast FW is blocking the trafic between java (in my machine) and our proxy-server. I connected my machine to public internet and things started to work.

So I wonder if somebody can help me to configure a rule. Normal browsing works fine, I have just noticed this problem with java.

I do not use java sites so often that perhaps I could just turn off Avast FW when I am doing it, but that does not sound very good solution. :o

Try going into the Control Panel and look for the Java Control Panel. Click on the Security tab and see if "Enable Java content in the browser" box is checked. Mine wasn't and that fixed the same problem for me.

Hello,

Thank you for the hint, it was indeed the solution to change that .dll file!
