How many programs does Avast software updater monitor?  Does it only monitor the most important ones?  I show only a half dozen.   Thanks    vince

The software updater essentially monitors applications that are more prone to attack, including internet facing applications like your browser and email programs. It is not attempting to monitor every program in the same way as http://secunia.com/ and the Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI) tool.
