Hello !
I'm using Windows 8 preview. Today, I've just installed Avast Internet Security 9, after the installation is complete nothing is working in addition to self-protection module, but before the restart I disabled Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Pro.
After the restart, the mouse and the keyboard aren't working. So, I can't log into my windows. I can only use them in BIOS or when I plug a usb-port mouse it works, but the keyboard doesn't.
any help please, all my necessary folders are there :'(

Sometimes you have to reboot multiple times before everything is working.
Have you tried to boot in safe-mode? If so, did you succeed? If not yet tried, try it.
-
I haven't tried safe mode yet, but I don't think that it could work as I need to type my password and the keyboard doesn't work.
-
Give it a try. Windows is loading not all drivers so you may be able to use the kb in safe-mode.
-
ok, I'll right now
-
the problem is that I need to press F8 or so to log in with safe mode, buty the keyboard is not working on boot at all.
-
This looks more like a windows (or perhaps even a hardware) problem than a problem with avast to me.
Hookup a external keyboard and see if that is working.
-
one more thing, when I shut it down using external mouse, the screen turns off as usual but the flash of wireless and on/off and the battery status don't turn off until I press the on/off buttion to shut it down completely

Fortunately, I have an image on one of my hard disks which I used to recover my windows.
now, I want to go back the LATEST VERSION OF 8 of Avast Internet Security, because I have a previous one 8.0.1843.
shall I only download and install it to upgrade or I should uninstall the current one first?
-
The latest version is not 8, but 2014.9.0.2006. (http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=136785.0)
-
yes, I know, but since it caused me that glitch, I prefer not to go to the latest version for now.
-
any answer please about my last question?

Questions ends with a question mark (?). Cannot frankly see any question anywhere.

here's my question: Can I upgrade to Avast Internet Security 8.0.1843 by just downloading and installing it and without removing the previous version?
-
I am witnessing several issues with this new release and i think i will wait until a couple of bug fix updates until i shall contemplate updating to the new release.
I do not want to hear about "it works just fine etc" as several threads on this forum clearly indicate otherwise.
It is also sad to see that bluescreen issues have still not been resolved and at this present moment in time i dont feel the latest version of avast is stable enough to install.
Hopefully in a couple of updates avast will be a stable program to install.
Thanks.

I agree with Arnold72, for this reason I want to go back to 8.0.1843.
I had a problem with the keyboard and the mouse of my laptop after installing the newest version, Luckily, I have a recovery image with took me to a too early version of Avast. now, I want to upgrade to the latest version of Avast 8 not 9.

Bad idea, esp. on an already messed up system...
1/ Use the removal tool to uninstall v9 - http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avastclear.exe
2/ Reboot
3/ Install a fresh v8 from scratch.
4/ Reboot

is there a link to download Avast Internet Security 8.0.1897?
