Today's vps update 131020-0 has been showing on the virus update history page since this morning (GMT) but I'm still unable to pick it up. Avast appears to be connecting with the server but not finding any update (the most recent update installed is 131019-1). Is anyone else experiencing this?
Streamed updates are working fine.
-
I believe the V9 stream has not yet got that version it may be V8 and lower only
-
Yep, I still have 131019-1. I haven't tried a manual update but will do so now. :)
Edit: It says I am up to date. Ah well, it will arrive when it is ready and all the streaming is still going on.
-
Thanks Essexboy, it's V9 I'm using.
-
The virus update history page may be a little misleading at times because of the new avast 2014 release. Avast 2014 is on a different update stream to avast 8.0, so there may be times when they aren't the same.
-
Still waiting for 131020-0 update.
-
Well 131019-1 is still reported as the latest version, though the streaming updates are showing 297 (298, got another whist composing this post) in the last 24hrs on my system. So I'm in no real rush.

I had 131020-0 on v8, just updated Avast with the in-program updater to v9 (Avast 2014) and now it's 131019-1. I tried the manual update and it still says that 131019-1 is the latest.

It just confirms, as has been said that they are on different update streams.

glad too hear was getting worried alittle thanks david r

I still haven't got the 131020-0 update. Though I am getting the streaming updates. I have been waiting for the 131020-0 update for around 3-4 hours and at the moment my avast free 2014 is on 131019-1 ???
-
The 20th is over where I am and I still have 19-1.
-
I still don't have 19-1 ???. I think avast servers are having issues getting the 20-0 for avast 2014?
-
Do we have to have a VPS update every day? Sometimes there are two a day if necessary so equally if it is not required we don't get any. as long as there are streaming updates we are being covered.
-
No we don't get VPS update every day. 1-2 VPS update in a day sometimes just 1 vps in a day and etc are followed by streaming updates!
-
Few hours on and pretty much getting the same, still the 19-1 ending one. I was starting to worry that my updates were not working as well and that something was wrong with avast not confirming it, glad to see that I'm not the only one experiencing it, hope it gets resolved soon.
-
hello all.

I just tried manual update a few minutes ago and managed to update defs. to 20.10.2013
-
"Yesterdays" update has now come through (131020.0)

Yep. Same here.
-
Updated here as well, will 9 always be a step behind 8's updated definitions or is this more a visual thing of it not showing up?
-
Idem here now but with manual update ???

Idem here now but with manual update ???
We don't know what the VPS updates contain but it will be pretty certain that the one sent (whatever the number) will contain all the relevant information to keep us safely up to date. Perhaps Avast! should stop numbering them in date format so we can't moan about them being delayed? ;)
-
It just auto-updated for me, did the chime and virus database updated line and when I highlight the icon it says 131020-0, have people tried to repair 9? When I had issues with windows not recognising avast and the firewall yesterday I did a repair.

Finally got VPS update 131020-0 New Zealand time at 2:08am LOL ;D
-
I don't really understand why v9 VPS updates are coming a day after v8 updates. Will this be fixed?
-
I got 21-1 now, so it looks like everything is caught up
-
I also got that one today. :)
-
The internet in my house works fine and on both my laptops the Avast VPS is 131118-1, for two days now. Is there a delay in Avast 2014 updates again or is it just me (my computers)?

I can't see how you have 21-1 (future time travelling date)as it still isn't the 21st in Europe and the release date time group for VPS updates is I believe Central European Time.

He posted that message on October 21, 2013 . . .
-
When he posts isn't relevant when the release date time group of the VPS isn't related to local or forum time, but on Central European Time.
I also think his forum time is messed up (according to the Quotes, which reflect my local time it couldn't be later than mine as he is in the US (at least 5hrs behind in the USA depending on time zone) when he posted.
So I have no idea what he is up to.

Just wanted to say that everything is fine again - Avast updated itself to 131121-0 today. :)
