Title: You are unprotected!
Post by: wangchuk on October 22, 2013, 10:38:39 AM
After updating Avast from one old version (I don't know which one) on Win XP I got message "You are unprotected". I was try few different ways to start it but without result.
1. I was press "Resolve all" button - no result
2. I was press "Start" - no result
3. I was login in Safe mode and try repair via Control panel - no result
4. I was login in Safe mode and try update via Control panel - no result
5. I was login in Safe mode and uninstall AVAST with avastclear.exe and install new version from Normal mode - no result
6. I was try to start from Control Panel -> Services - no result

The Windows alert say "Virus protection" -> NOT FOUND and now I haven't more idea where to start and what to do next. The Avast loose connect with my registration, too but I think this is not important because can work in trial mode.

Any help is welcome.

Hi this may require a fresh install

Download Rejzor's Uninstall Utility (http://rejzor.wordpress.com/avast-cleanup-tool/) to your Desktop.
Download the correct version of Avast
Avast Free (http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe)
Avast Pro (http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_pro_antivirus_setup.exe)
Avast Internet Security (http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_internet_security_setup.exe)
Avast Premier (http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_premier_antivirus_setup.exe)
Disconnect from the net
Uninstall Avast via control panel
