Title: My fuggin phone has not been stolen
Post by: Stonker on October 24, 2013, 05:12:32 PM
A few weeks ago, I changed the SIM card in my phone.  Ever since then, I keep getting bugged by messages saying that my phone has been stolen.  I keep logging on and changing the status to 'found' but it seems as soon as I move away from home, I get more 'stolen' alerts.  How do I tell Avast that this IS my SIM and that my fuggin phone has not been stolen

Hello,

please open Anti-Theft. By opening Anti-Theft, the phone is set to "found" and the new SIM card will be added to the list of trusted SIM cards.

open Anti-Theft either using Mobile Security or dial your avast! PIN like you would do with a phone number.

regards,

I have the same problem but with a twist. I uninstalled avast anti-theft with the intension of inserting a new sim into the phone ( Galaxy S3). On inserting the new sim i got the message stolen phone!! and was prompted for password.  I enter the password ten times and it does not work. Reinserted my old card - same story - password not responding.  Then i pressed the send SMS for temp password, waited for the sms on the friend phone but no sms, 10X!!

Can someone help?

the correct way to change a sim card is to

1. open and deactivate Anti-Theft
2. change SIM
3. open and activate Anti-Theft

I'll send you a how-to for your personal problem via email.
