Title: NO System Tray Icon 3/4th the time.
Post by: abqmarky on October 27, 2013, 03:09:02 PM
I'm using Windows 7 Sp1.
I'm having a hellvah time keeping Avast working. It seems to been loaded, but no UI and updates.

I hope that the programmers arent the same ones that are implementing that ObamaCare website.
God (oops, can I say that?...lol) Forbid!

Multiple reboots, over time, is a "hit-and-miss" getting the System Tray Icon to sho or shortcut to work.

Have you run a repair on the program?

Control Panel>Programs and Features>Avast>Uninstall/Repair

Click repair on the left and follow instructions.

There are a couple of threads about this issue already. If you go down a few lines in todays contributions you can see one.

Several people have reported the same. I don't know how how common this bug is in the greater scheme of things but there is a problem. I hope AVAST will be able to address this.

In my case, both a repair and subsequent clean re-install didn't solve the issue.
