Title: Big Problem Generate VRDB ?

 ??? Hi guys hope you can help running XP Pro latest version Avast Home free ok the VRDB icon keeps spinning around in the tray will not finish over 2 hrs so I uninstall avast I also used the avast registry cleaner for there site then re booted installed avast again the same problem came back the VRDB icon would not finish also downloaded a new version of avast could it be something left in the registry causing this problem dose any one have any idea how to fix the problem every thing else in avast works fine.

Running for 2 hours is sometimes to short, normaly it should be completely generated in a full afternoon.

Keep in mind that every time you press your keys or do something else the VRDB process is interrupted. So if you want to keep on working on your pc when it's generating it could take days.

Maybe you need to run it once overnight ?

Waldo is correct. You can try run the updating of VRDB manually and "right now" (see menu). If you have too many applications, VRDB could take a while to be completed. After three weeks, the process will begin again (by default). Thank you both  ;)
