Title: Avast firewall blocking? certain browsers
Post by: REDACTED on November 11, 2013, 07:31:13 AM
I am a fan of using different browsers. The four browser screenshots in the attached jpeg image are Epic, Torch, Google and Spark, all variants of Chromium and all loading www.google.com in a single tab. I also use Firefox, Palemoon, Waterfox, Cyberfox and Comodo Icedragon as Firefox variants without problems as well as Maxthon, Avant, Internet Explorer, Slimbrowser, Lunascape and Opera without problems. Epic stated the connection was reset and Torch stated socket not connected, as they do when trying to load any web page. Do these browsers use proxies or unusual ports? Epic is touted as a private mode untrackable browser and Torch has a built in Torrent service. I have given both browsers full in/out access manually in Avast firewall application rules. Wondering if anyone has encountered similar problems. Also another Chromium variant called Rockmelt that I used to have installed would be blocked with similar error codes.
