Title: Avast and Thunderbird with Comcast Account
Post by: Mscotto on November 13, 2013, 07:03:23 PM
I have been using Thunderbird for a while my e-mail accounts are through Comcast.
Never a problem till I installed Avast.

Every time I try to check my e-mail---  I get for one specific account... Sending of Password did not succeed. mail server mail.comcast.net responded: internal server error. And when i click OK, it tells me Log in failed and to retry/enter new password/cancel. I enter the password and I get the same error message.

The password hasn't been changed, no updates or installations except for AVAST today. If i disable Avast completely I am able to check mail though Thunderbird without issues.

Have checked the forums and couldn't  see a solution. Any suggestions? or links will be appreciated.

Fixed. Changed to a different Antivirus.
