Title: Avast v9 / 2014 command line options
Post by: Kurt_Aust on November 15, 2013, 10:10:49 AM
Just a request that command line options are made available and documented for Avast v9 / 2014 like they were for the previous versions.

I particularly miss the ability to silently install Avast and silently run the definitions update (vpsupd.exe).

They are still available here in v9.
just open avast and press F1 to launch help.

OR
browse to-->
C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\1033   (for en-us users)
you will get a file Avast5_1033.chm here, open it and read about command line options.

hope this helps :)

Actually they're not, all  the command line options are missing from the free edition and the paid editions only have command line options for scanning, not for installation or configuration.

according to avast help file (.chm)

This feature is only available in avast! Pro antivirus and avast! Internet Security.

so i think they are not available in free version. :-\

So as one can see, at least in regard to installation options, version 8 of Avast is far superior to version 9.
