Title: RogueKiller Detects program Avast! as a Rogue ST
Post by: ILYavast on November 24, 2013, 06:43:32 AM
Hello,

Before anything else I want to thank you for the support forum on Avast.
Yesterday, I decided to download RogueKiller (famous disinfection program). At the end of the analysis I see it detects me a program that launches at startup as Rogue ST but the worries is that the program belongs to the Avast!
Access road program in question:
"C: \ Program Files \ AVAST Software \ Avast \ setup \ emupdate \ 83a31f82-bf66-4875-9eb5-6b0ae5b5ce3b.exe"

So I want to know if:
This is a false positive or a true infection then?
If it is a False Positive then can be adjusted in the next Update?

That cordially ILYavast

hi ILYavast,

Why run RogueKiller?  That part has been left unsaid.

If dealing with a malware infection of some type, then follow mikaelrask's recommendations.  Otherwise, it is a FP as the detection has to do with avast!'s emergency updater, which is a legitimate file digitally signed by avast!.
