Just a small note: the upcoming update of BART may give you a
The package is broken
message and fail (exit the BART CD Manager).
The work around is simple - just rerun the Manager and retry -- that's all.
In other words, it should happen at most once.
Sorry for this inconvenience.

This happened as described.
Burnt image and tested.
All worked ok.
What are the upgrades to the package?
Cheers ;D

Among others, some new Net adapters are supported, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, the update Virus Cleaner - now covering e.g. Swen and Blaster.

So it needs an update in the program version to be able to 'clean' up the virus/worm. but only an update in the VPS to pick them up.
Is that correct?
If so, will there start being updates to the program version more regularly? IE when Avast!4 is updated?
Thanks :)

Yes, that's quite correct. The Virus Cleaner is not in the virus database under BART (that's because we don't generally have a temp dir so the cleaner module is just on the CD).
If so, will there start being updates to the program version more regularly? IE when Avast!4 is updated?
Absolutely. Not exactly when avast4 is updated, but whenever the Virus Cleaner is updated (not always the same, but usually even more often than avast 4 itself - anytime a new "blockbuster" virus shows up)...
Anyway, the reason we've waited so long with the latest update was that we were worried about the updater (the BART CD Manager). The updating code was completely rewritten and we didn't want to release a BART update before we were sure it'd work (so we've been actually 'testing' it on regular avast 4 users, as the updating code is shared). Now the updating code will be frozen, and we can issue updates much more often.
Hope this helps,

Awesome.
Thanks again for a great product. :-)

Well, thanks, we're trying to give you what you've paid for (BART isn't exactly cheap ;) - but it can pay off from time to time, especially if you're a data recovery / computer service professional)
FYI BART 2.0 is coming soon (well, before x-mas). And it's gonna have a lot of new features! (existing cusotmers will have free upgrades, of course - assuming they have valid subscription).

Version2? sweet
Bart is not cheep to buy, but it has paid for it's self for me in the few months since it's release for me and my business.
Throughly recommended.

BTW If you'd have any tips for modules to be included in BART 2, please let us know. We're always looking for good ideas. Also, how would you imagine an optimal shell for BART 2 (the existing shell design is clearly impractical as the number of apps is growing... some are suggesting the Start Menu, but I'm personaly not keen of this - it always means an extra, unnecessary click...).
Soon I'll post a list of apps we're planning for the v2 release.
