About a week or two ago I'd noticed that my free-version registration was showing something like 30 days left, which sounded about right since I'd last renewed sometime in Jan. of this year. Since then, it's jumped to slightly under a year left, implying that it recently updated itself with no action on my part.
When did this come into effect? Whenever, it was certainly not prominently announced, even though a fairly significant change.
(edit) If it helps tie it into a specific defs or program update, it's showing the renewal as effective Dec. 5th.

Mine is still 60 days away, so it will be a while before I can test this theory.

If I remember right something was said about auto-renewal in the free version.
I think it was either before or during the early beta tests.
Don't quote me on that.
But I'm pretty sure.
I was going to check on that but avast has cleared out most of the "beta board".

Was this the thread you were thinking of?

The Beta Board has a "Child" board: Old Topics, which has nearly 900 topics and more than 13000 posts.
