Title: "Infection detected" issue
Post by: MattH1983 on January 20, 2014, 06:01:11 AM
Hello,

I encountered an issue today. Out of nowhere, Avast! keeps alerting me with an "Infection detected" notice. However, it only pops up on when I am using Firefox. It doesn't appear when using Safari (I'm not a fan of Safari, that is why I'm using Firefox) The message says:

Infection:  JS:Iframe-DHY [Trj]
URL: http://cdn-dccs.com/js_f.php?v=c0005z
File: {gzip}

I have uninstalled Firefox and Avast and re-installed them. That did not work. I'm not sure what else to do. My computer works fine otherwise, it's just that annoying alert that keeps popping up in red whenever I go to a site (even Google).

I hope someone can help me. I'm not very good with computers. Thanks in advance!

Matt

Hello MattH1983

It may seem you may have viruses and other malware? Did you do a full system scan with SuperAntiSpyware, MalwareBytes' Antimalware, and Avast? Update all three of them in normal mode and run full system scan in all 3 of them in Safe Mode. Again, in Normal mode, update all 3 of them again (just in case there's update available) and run a full system scan again (just in case).

If no viruses and other malware found after doing a full system scan in both safe and normal mode. You have to make a new post in this forum http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=4.0 and malware experts will be able to assist you in the situation you have.
