Title: Mass Removal of Avast?
Post by: edwardw121 on January 24, 2014, 04:07:14 PM
Hi Guys
I have a project shortly where i need to remove avast from a number of machines, now rather than go through each manually, is there a way to remove them centrally? with a script perhaps?
Thanks

We have been working on a tool that does not need to be run in safe mode. I heard 2 weeks out. However, I do not know how it will deal with the self protection module. We, as well as you, are waiting for this tool!

Correct, under edit group settings, troubleshooting, enable self defense. However, we want to convert Pro 2014 sites to Endpoint, so we do not have that luxury.

Yes, it will be available to those who need it.  You should send me an email in 2 weeks, so I can  remember to include you.

There is a Uninstallation Job in the management console. Why don't you use that?

Create a new Deployment Job, but in the Job selection dropdown select "Uninstall avast! protection".

I so wish I could push an uninstallation through SOA to 200 avast! Pro 2014!

Hi,
have you selected the client or all the clients (see attached) when you've created the uninstallation job?
Have you any warnings?
Which version of SOA are you using?

I have been working with avast! Engineers, and we have a partial solution available for uninstalling avast! V2014 versions, as I want to replace them with Endpoint. The uninstaller is a modified version of avastclear and does NOT need to be run in safe mode, but will require that the avast! self defense module be disabled in advance.

I am going into the test stage now!
