Every time i complete a search i get a list of things searched with the report "unable to scan"

here is a screencap

Are you using spybot S&D? I would be also grateful if you could post all exact path to file (maybe one or two). I think it may be some kind of backups which can be password protected. Also can you look what is the exact message of error. Just expand these fields and look.
-
yes i do have spy bot installed. do you think that could be disturbing it?..
i will have to rerun the scan to get what you have requested. i will post again shortly.
-
Just try to remove all recovery backups Spybot made and it should help. Spybot saves items it removes as backup in password protected archives, but I don't think you'll need it. Or add folder to exclusion list: all these files should be in the same folder. But my recommendation is to remove backups.

yep that worked! Genius i tell you. Genius. ;D

By the way, as you can see on the screenshot the text was clipped ("Unable to scan: Ar..." doesn't seem like a complete phrase). By widening the column (by dragging its border in the header), you would see the whole message, which probably was: "Unable to scan: Archive is password protected". :)
BTW2 - welcome to the avast forum! (http://malware-research.co.uk/Smileys/default/welcomeani.gif)
