Title: Firewall

Why does Avast tell me that it can't turn on my Firewall, but doesn't tell me how to do it?    My Windows 7 firewall is on.   Does this affect it?

Repair avast!:
1. Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs -> avast!
2. Click on 'Repair'.
3. Follow instructions.
4. Reboot.

Thank you so much.   This has worked.   Why can't Avast tell you this when it says it can't turn on?
