since the update the words avast online security appear in top right in firefox...there is no way to get rid of it.
I will delete and start over if no answer is given.

Avast Online Security is the Browser Protection Module, if you don't want the browser protection then you should be able to disable it via your browsers add-ons or it can be uninstalled via remove programs/avast/uninstall/change and untick features not required.
