Title: Turning Off Auto-Update Notificiation
Post by: edlight on July 08, 2005, 01:27:51 AM
I have Home Edition.

My Auto-Update settings are
  Permanent Internet Connection
  Automatic/Automatic
  [Don't] Show Update Progress - Unchecked
  [Don't] Show Icon - Unchecked
  Silent

But, whenever (good old) Avast updates itself it throws up a message to click for more details, down by the Win XP clock, lower right hand corner.

Is there a way to turn this off?

Thanks.

If I'm correct that can be changed in avast4.ini

Thanks. Here are my changes.

[AAVM]
SuppressUpdatedInfo=1

Don't show the little blue box.

[InetWD]

UpdatePeriod=120

 Time (minutes) for update checking. In the Home Edition, any value lower than 2 hours is ignored, i.e., the value 2 hours (120 minutes) is used instead in this case.

Default is 240
