Title: HTML:IFrame-W [trj] - 300000 files?
Post by: cwulff on April 09, 2014, 03:30:34 PM
Not sure if this is a Mac question or a virus forum question.

This morning I (after opening a downloaded movie) was overrun with HTML:IFrame-W [trj] warnings. I can't find anything online about this Trojan in particular, but now Safari won't load any web pages ('you must disable Avast to view' is the message) and a full system scan with Avast says there are 285,000 infected files and would I like to move them to the chest. I'm pretty sure the computer would pretty well stop working if I moved 1/3 of all files to the chest. Is there not a way to get Avast to actually clean the files rather than just hiding them all away (including all the browser files). Also, why can't I find any information about this Trojan? Could this be an Avast problem?

Can you tell us where the detected files are located?
A Screenshot if possible?

Turned the computer off and then it wouldn't even turn back on. There's a Genius looking at it now, but I suspect they're just going to wipe the whole thing.
