Title: Security for windows 7 being used as server
Post by: zorro777 on April 13, 2014, 11:23:20 AM
I will be using my windows 7 pc as server for website(in joomla) using wampserver and jira(java based project management web application) on tomcat using reverse proxy method.
I will be using security hardening methods by microsoft and basic practices to keep my computer safe. I have avast internet security and will use malwarebytes pro. I wanted little guidance about what else I should take care of?

Perhaps you should be asking on the Wampserver forum ? http://forum.wampserver.com/list.php?2

The other thing that comes to mind is what is the purpose of the website?

If this is any form of commercial venture you need the correct licenses for Avast and MBam.

Ya its going to be for business purpose and I will be getting both license for that. All of my traffic is going to be through apache through port 80 and I will be using SSL as well. I wanted to know areas that I should take care of apart from I mentioned in my question.
