Hello, I'm new in this forum, so I'm still trying to figure it out. I have a Win7 64 bit home premium running on an i5 ACER desktop. One day it did not reboot after an avast and windows update. even in safe mode it will not boot up, it hangs at aswrvrt.sys file. I don't have a back up CD I was able to dowload an ISO with the OS. I can start the recovery console. it seems to be a driver issue but I'm not 100%. I have tried the chkdsk /f /r and it did some checking and repairing but still no boot up. here is the FRST file i got.
I have seen others with similar problems in the forum so I really hope you can help me.
thank you in advance

Hi,
Download attached fixlist.txt and save it to your USB flashdrive as fixlist.txt
>> Boot into Recovery Environment
Start FRST in a similar manner to when you ran a scan earlier, but this time when it opens ....
- Press the Fix button once and wait.
- FRST will process fixlist.txt
- When finished, it will produce a log fixlog.txt on your USB flashdrive.
>> Exit out of Recovery Environment and post me the log please.
Try to boot Windows normally...
-
still no boot up, in safe mode now it stops at a different point. here is the log
-
Can you tell me where it stops now? What happens when you try to boot normal mode.
-
when I boot normal, now it asks for the Windows CD
in safe mode it stops at classpnp.sys before attempting to reboot.
here are this morning's FRST files
Thank you

Let's run FRST once more.
Open notepad.
- Click Start
- Type notepad.exe in the search programs and files box and click Enter.
- A blank Notepad page should open.
- Copy/Paste the contents of the code box below into Notepad.
cmd: sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=c:\windows
cmd: chkdsk c: /r
cmd: bootrec.exe /fixmbr
cmd: bootrec.exe /fixboot
- Save it to your USB flashdrive as fixlist.txt

It did not work, I decided to do a fresh re-install and it turned out the original hard drive was not working properly.
