I installed Avast free a week ago and today the error, HTMLayout.dll cannot be loaded to properly start the GUI. Therefore the process cannot continue.
I tried searching and downloading the HTMLayout.dll into the system folder but that didnt work, so I uninstalled avast fully with avastclear... now im trying to install avast again but its still giving me the same error even though i fully uninstalled avast...
I am running windows 8.1 64 bit.

First make sure there are no remnants of a previously install av other than avast.

1. Download Avastclear, Rejzors uninstall tool and the appropriate Avast program edition.
Here are the installer links. Note: You need to be ONLINE during this install.

Thank You Eddy.
The uninstall went perfectly with both programs used as you directed. The ck of the Device manager shows nothing more of the Avast program. I downloaded another copy of the avast premier...and when I attempt to (re)install I still get the same error message.
Making progress but still not quite there.......

Tried repair, no difference... when i try to install i get the same error message

Don't download it, use the online installer.
