Title: What Avast product should I buy?
Post by: ChipBurns on May 08, 2014, 05:34:39 PM
I am starting a new business, want to purchase anti-virus software, and was told by a reliable source that Avast is the best choice.

It is not clear to me what product to purchase.  At present I am a single individual with a single Win8 laptop.  I expect to expand in the short term to additional staff but do not yet have my own server.  I expect to have my own server in future but in the near term my business will consist of a network of individual computers, likely all Windows and/or Android.

Please advise.

Thank you,

I would say EP or EPS for now.

Thanks.

I currently have McAfee installed on my machine (default from Lenovo).  Should I remove it before installing Avast?  I have had many troubles with McAfee in the past and am not certain what procedure to follow to ensure that nothing goes awry.

Yes, you need to remove McAcrap before installing avast.
Dowload and use the removal tool :

Thanks again.

Your logo suggests you are a graphic artist.  Is this true?  If so I have a small job I want completed in the next 8 hours.

Thx

I'm not even anything close to a graphic artist.
Give me a brush and paint and I paint everything except what needed painted ;D

The logo was created for me by another member on this webboard.
Basically it is made of 3 images.
The camouflage for the background, a picture of me and the logo of the regiment I served in.

Personally I'd just get the endpoint protection (EP) version...  The desktop firewall component in the Plus version has from time to time caused problems.  EP + the built in windows firewall seems to work for most people.
