Title: Corrupted avast! antivirus detected

I keep getting this message while attempting to reinstall Avast:

<blockquote>The installer has detected corrupted avast! antivirus installation on this computer (service 'aswsp' is running), this installer cannot continue.  Please, repair your computer first.</blockquote>

Per Windows task manager there is no such service running.  Also tasklist shows no such process either.

Rebooted computer.  Verified that there is no avast directory (hidden or otherwise) in either program directory (Program Files (x86) or Program Files).

Running Windos 7 - 64 bit.

- Which avast!..?? (Free/Pro/IS/Premier)
- Which version..??
- Other security related software installed..??
- Which AV(s) did you use before avast!..??
