Title: Avast Free edition and possible conflicts with other programs?
Post by: REDACTED on June 17, 2014, 03:11:59 PM
Hi all,

Before I install Avast Free edition on a Windows7 Home Premium machine could someone tell me if there are likely to be any conflicts with the following...

Windows Defender (I believe the W7 version is Anti-spyware rather than Anti-virus)
Firefox with No-Script, Adblock+, Flashblock and Web of Trust
Trusteer Rapport

Weekly scans with Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware (both free versions so not running real-time).

I realise the vast majority of users of Avast Free have no problems but just thought I'd ask,

Thanks in advance,

Mike.

Trusteer has had it's problems with avast before and Defender is completely worthless so best to disable anyway and save yourself some resources., everything else you have listed is fine.

Many thanks CraigB; I'll take a chance on Rapport but really need that one. Will disable Defender then; I take it Avast does everything and more than Defender.
